About Easter Seals' Veteran Staffing Network (VSN) In 1933 a group of physicians, therapists, teachers and civic-minded individuals banned together to create new opportunities for children with disabilities in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. The result of their efforts was the founding of the D.C. Society for Crippled Children, today known as Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA. Today, Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA reaches tens of thousands of children and adults throughout the region. One thing that has remained at the forefront through the years is the mission of Easter Seals; "provides exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs, including military, wounded warriors, Veterans and their families, have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities." The Veterans Staffing Network (VSN) functions as a full-service staffing agency (temp, temp-to-perm, direct hire) placing Veterans, military spouses, National Guard and Reservists, and wounded warriors. Revenues from placement fees are invested to provide crucial support services for Veterans, wounded warriors and their families such as Military Family Respite Program, Homeless Veterans Reintegration Programs, Family Caregiver Training, Little Warriors Child Development Program and others. www.easterseals.com/DCMDVA/
