The American Freedom Foundation will host Warriors To The Workforce hiring and training workshops event presented by GES (Global Experience Specialist) in conjunction with the 2017 AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition on October 9 - 11, 2017 in Washington, DC. Booth #261. This one of a kind event is part of the American Freedom Foundation’s nationwide initiative to help Veterans, transitioning military service members and military spouses find meaningful employment.  The event will bring together major companies from around the country to provide employment opportunities for our military community. 

The 2017 WTTW event will have a new 3-day format that is designed to provide better results for exhibitors and members of the military community.  Transition Assistant Program offices at all National Capital Region military installations will register candidates from all branches of the military to attend all 3-days of WTTW.  Approximately 100 candidates will attend on Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday will be open to all members of the military community throughout the National Capital Region. Employers will have the opportunity to know each candidate, review their resumes in advance, and be prepared for face to face meetings.  Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in workshop sessions, panel discussions and a networking social with the employers.

Schedule of Events:
  • Day 1 – workshop sessions, panel discussions, networking social  (1500 - 1700)
  • Day 2 – company meetings with candidates
  • Day 3 – hiring event with 25-30 Veteran friendly companies; Note:  The hiring event will be open to the entire Veteran, transitioning service member and military spouse community in the National Capital Region.

Facts about AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition

  • The largest landpower exposition and professional development forum in North America
  • Over 600 Army & Industry exhibitors using 250,000 square feet of exhibit space
  • Attendees in recent years have included the Vice President of the United States, the Secretary of Defense, the Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Army
  • Professional development forums are held throughout the three days for soldiers, NCOs, officers, Army family members, and industry executives
****Important Information for Exhibitors****
  • Company participation is limited to 30 exhibitors.
  • All individual working the exhibitor booths must have an AUSA badge to enter Warriors To The Workforce Hiring Event and Exhibit Hall.
  • Arrival Information for Exhibitors:  When you arrive on the first day of the event, please check in at AUSA Registration and get your badge. Then proceed to Hall A; Booth #261 and check in with the American Freedom Foundation to find out where to set up.
  • Each exhibitor will receive 1 8 ft. table and 2 chairs.
  • Plan to bring your own tablecloth.
 
****Important Information for Veterans****
  • Veteran, active duty and military spouse admission is free for Wednesday's Hiring Event.
  • All attendees must have an AUSA Badge to enter Warriors To The Workforce Hiring Event and Exhibit Hall - allow time to retrieve your badge from the AUSA Registration Area.
  • WTTW is locateed in Hall A; Booth #261 (back right corner).
  • Be prepared to meet employers
  • Dress for success.
  • Bring enough resumes (Both private and government).
  • Visit exhibitor websites to get an idea of job availability and descriptions.
